PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This project involved a larger exterior renovation of a detached garage/accessory structure. The work included repairing damaged exterior wall sections, preparing the structure for new siding, updating the outside finish, and improving the overall condition of the building. The existing garage had areas of exposed framing, unfinished wall surfaces, damaged trim, and older exterior materials that needed to be replaced or restored.
The renovation focused on both structural repair and exterior appearance. The team worked on the side wall, rear wall, roof edge areas, and exposed framing around the garage opening. New exterior sheathing and siding were installed, the wall surfaces were finished, and the building was painted in a dark modern color to create a cleaner and more uniform look. The project also included preparation and cleanup around the patio and side-yard areas to make the exterior more functional and visually consistent.
The project included:
- Exterior wall repair and surface preparation
- Removal of damaged siding and old exterior materials
- Repair of exposed framing sections
- Installation of new exterior siding
- Roof edge and fascia area improvements
- Wall patching and finish work
- Exterior painting
- Cleanup around the garage, patio, and side yard
- Preparation of the structure for long-term exterior durability
This renovation helped restore the garage structure and gave it a much cleaner, more finished appearance. The updated siding, repaired walls, and dark exterior paint improved the look of the entire backyard area while protecting the structure from weather exposure and everyday wear.
The result is a more durable and visually updated accessory building that fits better with the surrounding outdoor space. This type of project is especially useful for homeowners who want to improve an existing garage, workshop, storage building, or potential ADU-related structure without rebuilding the entire space from scratch.
